Sundays are made for relaxing… especially in Bologna sunday mornings are the days in which everything stops and while the city is still sleepy it’s time for long breakfasts, a walk in the city center or up to San Luca’s hill.
If you wake up late after a partying saturday night a thing I like to go for a brunch, the breakfast+lunch time, the perfect option if it’s already too late for breakfast but too early for lunch 😉
Lately there are many places that offer very good brunchs and today I will talk about one of my favourite: Bakery Station at via Don Luigi Sturzo 30/B.
You can find this cafè at the Croce di Casalecchio and it reminds me a lot of a NY’s bakery or coffeeshop; relaxed atmosphere, a counter full of american pies or desserts, bagels and lots more (but as I am a sweetlovers I fell in love in front of the beautiful desserts’ window :P).
I really wanted to try their famous brunch so on a sunday, together with my beloved girlfriends and a lot of things to talk about, we went there for our breakfast-lunch :).
I have to say that the menu is really inviting with a lot of options sweet and salted, even vegetarian; in every option it’s included an american coffee and a fresh orange juice. We all ordered different plates so we were able to try a lot of different things… I have to say that, looking at this picture of the moment when the food arrived, still makes my mouth water!
The fresh stuffed bagels where super! I also particularly liked the little pancakes, the bretzel bread and the raspberry cheesecake! I didn’t care about the french fries (I don’t love them at all) but my friends said they where crispy and delicious ;). I got my coffee cup refilled 2 or 3 times ’cause I really liked its aroma, really similar to the ones you can find in New York and that I deeply love!
The room where you can seat and have a table it’s tiny, the decor is kind of shabby chic style with a lot of sweet and funny details 😉
I give you an advice: book your table, go there with a relaxed mood, the right company (this is the MUST) and maybe after a walk to San Luca’s Sanctuary… it’s will be like tasting a little bit of a New York’s morning perfecty inside our Bologna 🙂
